Accessibility
Last updated Jun 2026
We want everyone to be able to plan a security budget, regardless of how they browse. SecurityBudget.com is built and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time checkbox.
What we do
- Color contrast. The dark theme is tuned so that text, controls, and data meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements — including the calculator, links, and tables — are reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "skip to content" link.
- Reduced motion. We respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting and disable non-essential animation for users who request it.
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper landmarks, headings, lists, and table markup so assistive technologies can convey structure and relationships.
- Responsive layout. Content reflows for zoom and small screens without loss of information or functionality.
Known limitations
Accessibility is never "done." Some third-party embeds or newer interactive features may not yet fully meet our target. Where we identify a gap, we prioritize fixing it. If something blocks you, please tell us — real reports are the fastest path to a fix.
Reporting an issue
If you encounter a barrier — anything from low contrast to a control you cannot reach with a keyboard or screen reader — let us know through the contact page. Please include the page URL, your browser and assistive technology, and a short description of what went wrong. We aim to respond promptly and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as we can.
